PHARMPOWER LOGO DESIGN
Business Offering Pharmacy License Preparation
PharmPower was a new business looking for a logo to establish their brand and came to me for their logo design.
I conducted research into the logos of similar businesses offering pharmacy license preparation. Most referenced pharmacy or the profession and utilized Sans Serif font. Common objects in the logos included crosses, Rx or mortar and pestle. The most common colours in the pharmacy profession were green and blue.
The client wanted to incorporate one or more of the symbols: fire, scroll with Rx or clenched fist. As a clenched fist has a political connotation, my brainstorming focused on the fire and scroll elements and keep Rx in the logo design.
Looking at the designs, the logo with Rx incorporated in the flame was a minimalistic design and allowed for more flexibility in the colour palette to make it recognizable.
I presented the client with two iterations of the logo (i.e. two peaks vs. three) with different colour combinations. Dark red kept in line with the fire or flame theme while blue and green was more common in the industry.
PharmPower preferred the design with the two peaks and requested different colour combinations to further represent fire (e.g. orange, yellow).
I explored different two colour palettes combinations. With the logo design, yellow did not provide good contrast and I recommended that we not move forward with using it.
After reviewing the recoloured logos, PharmPower chose the red and orange palette and I provided the appropriate files required for web and social media use.
