FORGE STUDENT STARTUP COMPETITION
Event Brochure and Promotion
As the Manager of Student Entrepreneurship, I managed The Forge’s major event, the annual Student Startup Competition. Students pitched their ideas to prominent industry judges for over $100K in cash and in-kind prizes and entry into the summer immersive program.
Aside from application design, interviews, pitch practice and event preparation, one of the responsibilities was to spread the word about the event and design the program brochure.
The template pages were created in Adobe Illustrator for the 12 page brochure. It included information about the Forge’s resources, program, judges and competitors.
The event hashtag and website were in the banner of each page spread to encourage attendees to use the hashtag at the event and visit our website for more information.
The selected colour palette and typography allowed for contrast and readability.
For social media posts, we altered the colour palette and typography due to an alternate program’s restrictions. For future works, I would ensure that the colours and typography are available across design programs or choose one design program for all assets.
